What I Wore In Barcelona

16 June

Hello! So if you follow me on social media (which you totes should, by the way!), you will have seen that I've spent the last few days exploring sunny Barcelona.

It was absolutely beautiful, and a post about the best places to go if you're visiting will be up soon.

Before that, though, I thought I'd share some of the outfits I wore while we were there.

Dress - Miss Selfridge (old) | Belt - Primark | Sandals - Asos

I originally packed this old Miss Selfridge dress as a smarter option for evening activities, but we decided to stay out all day rather than going back to the hotel. It also became apparent that we'd booked our trip for the hottest week of the year so far, so I thought it would be comfy in the sweat inducing weather, as it's quite loose and floaty. I paired it with my trusty Asos embroidered sandals and a black belt from Primark to break up the look a bit.

I do think this dress makes me look really wide for some reason, maybe it's the midi length? But it did its job and kept me cool for braving the metro and strolling down La Rambla in 32 degree heat.

Top - Zara | Shorts - Boohoo | Belt - Primark | Sandals - Asos

For our second day in Catalonia, which involved trekking up a mountain and getting a cable back down, followed by drinks in the sunshine, I opted for denim shorts and a floaty, flare sleeved blouse from Zara which is fast becoming the most worn item in my wardrobe. I love an oversized sheer blouse in the summer to stop me overheating while still looking smart-ish.

I always feel self conscious in denim shorts, as I have pretty sizeable thighs that squidge out when I sit down, but I think I pulled them off! In hindsight, a skirt would have been more appropriate in the crazy high temperatures, but they weren't too bad! Although I did get a bit of the dreaded "chub rub"...

I wore this with my Asos sandals again because, erm, they were the only shoes I brought with me. Luckily, they're super comfy and go with everything, as well as featuring some pretty stunning embroidery. Not bad for £25!

Top - Zara | Shorts - Boohoo | Belt - Primark | Sandals - Asos | Swimsuit - Asos

Pretty much the same outfit as day 2, but with yet another flare sleeved top from Zara. This is the same one from my last post, and has MASSIVE sleeves with a tie waist detail. Preventing me from flashing anyone was my red, Baywatch style swimsuit, which I wore underneath in case of an impromptu trip to the beach (aside: Barceloneta beach is stunning, what a skyline).

Not featured here are my travel outfits, which were basically just an old pair of skinnies and a t-shirt. Gotta keep it comfy when you're squidged into the same seat for a few hours!
