The Best Hot Chocolate in Liverpool

25 November

I feel like, for the past month, all I've drank is hot chocolate. Not going to lie, it was mainly to keep my hands warm. But it means that I've basically skipped from coffee shop to coffee shop, trying all the different hot chocolates.

It's been a good month.

Anyway, here's the DL on where to find the most delicious hot chocolate in Liverpool to warm you up this winter.

Where: 15 Argyle Street, Liverpool, L1 5BL

Kinder Buenos are my favourite chocolate, so this was always going to be a winner for me. Mini snack aside, the actual hot chocolate itself is super sweet and creamy. Muster have gained a bit of a reputation for doing awesome things to classic chocolate bars (think Caramac French fancies and Rolo pie), so naturally their range of hot chocolates is pretty impressive. If you don't fancy the Kinder one, they also have Nutella, Milky Way and Reeses hot chocolates on offer.

Muster is on Argyle Street, just off Hanover Street. It's in the city centre, but just far away enough to have a cosy, relaxed vibe which is much appreciated this time of year what with all the scary-eyed Christmas shoppers (seriously guys, just order online). I also enjoyed their choice of music and comfy sofas. Cheers, guys.

Where: 89 Bold Street, Liverpool, L1 4HF

Why it's the best: Everyone in Liverpool raves about Bold Street Coffee, and not without reason. However, I don't like coffee, so I always go for their hot chocolate. I am a child. Luckily, Bold Street are dab hands with the ol' latte art, so I get to enjoy a yummy drink which looks slightly more sophisticated than your average. Aesthetics aside, it tastes dreamy and will make you feel warm and happy inside.

My only issue with Bold Street Coffee is that it's so popular I can never get a seat. Expansion soon?

Why it's the best: I feel like everywhere I write about is on Bold Street. It's just the best. Anyway, LEAF specialise in tea, and they have an insanely huge selection to pick from. Kev is obsessed with tea, so we're in here quite a lot (that's his tea in the background). But guess what? I don't like tea either. I know, I suck.

Anyway, I like to get hot chocolate when I visit LEAF in the winter. Theirs is probably the most "chocolatey" hot chocolate, it's really thick and creamy and I'm mildly obsessed with it, to be honest.

LEAF always has a great atmosphere and it's very Instagrammable inside. Think fairylights, Chesterfield sofas and a vintage feel. They recently opened a cafe in Manchester as well, so check them out if you live near there.

Barley and Beans: 17 Hatton Garden, Liverpool, L3 2FE

Moose Coffee: 6 Dale Street, Liverpool, L2 4TQ & 157 College Road, Crosby, Liverpool, L23 3AS
